Students will be housed in a rustic cabin setting, 12 miles north of 300 Below, Inc. in Central Illinois. The cabin is fully equipped for entertainment with a Pioneer Plasma TV linked to a Dish Network HD-DVR Satellite Receiver and a Sony PlayStation 3 with BluRay capability. Using Meraki's mesh wireless technology, the cabin is equipped with high-speed wireless internet (WiFi) service, which also allows for online multiplayer gaming. A Bose Lifestyle Surround Sound System adapts to the slanted acoustics of the main room to create a fully immersive experience. A 96" projection screen and PA system is available for hanging outside when entertainment needs must adapt to a larger crowd. The cabin comes with a fully stocked kitchen to handle the most demanding gourmet meals. There is an EzGo golf cart and four fully-restored Vespa mopeds for use on the trails that cross through the nearby tree line. The pond out front is fully stocked with fish throughout the year. Kayaks and a rowboat are standing by to access the pontoon dock that sits in the middle of the pond during the summer months. A separate dock with chiminea, hammock, and fully lit treeline help create a cozy atmosphere in the evenings. A fire pit is also located directly in front of the cabin near a professional quality grill. OLIN STUDENTS: If you'd like to learn more about the cabin or its surrounding area, please contact an Olin Alum, Dean Dieker, for more information. Dean's hometown is close to the cabin and he's been out once now to see what everything looks like. He'll provide a good third-party opinion on the living situation at the cabin. |
