For Immediate Release
DECATUR, Illinois – (BusinessWire) – Students from Babson College, known as the #1 entrepreneurial business school in the nation, and Olin College of Engineering, known as “one of the new Ivies” by Kaplan, will be filmed as they take over the world’s largest and oldest commercial cryogenic processing company for eight weeks during the summer. Previously featured on the Discovery Channel, the segment for 300 Below, Inc. set the all-time viewer response record and aired several times. The goal for this production is to show America’s small businesses how to improve their own entrepreneurial ventures. The show will appeal to viewers aged 18-54 years old. The focus is not on drama or cutthroat business competition, which other shows already offer. Filming will emphasize creativity, innovation, and teamwork, though drama is expected between employees of the company (50+ years old) and the young students. 300 Below will allow filming for three seasons and will create scholarships from excess revenue derived from the show. Given the numerous product placement opportunities that exist on the show, companies like Xerox are contributing to the project. Cryogenic processing is the science of improving metals to make them last longer and perform better. NASCAR & Indy 500 racing engines, weapons and optics used by our military, pieces of the Statue of Liberty, musical instruments, F-22 Raptor parts, NASA satellites, and Jack Nicklaus’ recent golf club line have all been treated by 300 Below and are only a few example applications. 300 Below is profitable and has spawned hundreds of operations in several countries worldwide. Customers in seven different industries provide many visual opportunities for filming in numerous locations around the world. Four students and one MBA candidate will be housed in a rustic cabin setting. During the weekends, students will leave Central Illinois and travel around the nation to meet with business executives and entrepreneurial visionaries in Boston, New York City, Aspen and Chicago. The show continues to search for new executives who will provide sales advice before students meet with potential customers in each city.
